THE STORY OF FRANK + MILS

Frank + Mils began in 2022 with Gem and Kate, an auntie and niece team, creating Mother’s Day bracelets from Gem’s breakfast bar. Over the past two years, it has been through many iterations to become what it is today: a purposeful brand with a passion to help you create something unique, and a mission to use business for good.

We strive to create beautiful and meaningful products in a sustainable and ethical way. Alongside this, we’re committed to supporting brilliant causes that are tirelessly working towards much needed change by donating 20% of our profits on a bi-annual basis.

We’ve tested 100’s of materials and designs to refine and perfect what we now offer: a range of highly customisable base designs that put the creativity in your hands. In addition to this, we also offer a completely bespoke service, where we collaborate with you to create truly special, one of a kind pieces.

Our range is still evolving and we have big dreams. At present we create bracelets, necklaces, earrings, phone charms, keyrings, lanyards and sunglasses chains.

KATE

I’m the ‘Frank’ part of F+M, named after my daughter, Francesca.

Since I could hold a pencil I’ve been creative and dabbled in various creative businesses before going to uni to study textiles. After graduating I began working in PR and marketing for some amazing brands in London, including Wool And The Gang, Etsy and Holly & Co.

After having Frankie in 2021, my maternity leave was coming to an end but I just couldn’t imagine returning to my job. Becoming a mum had completely changed me and I’d always dreamt of starting a small business… so I finally took the leap, dragging my auntie, Gem, on board…

GEM

As you may have figured, I’m the ‘Mils’ part of the business, named after my daughter, Millie.

After working for the family business for over a decade, I ran a dog walking business alongside working at the local primary school until 2020. During lockdown I spent a lot of time helping Millie making friendship bracelets and discovered a love for beading!

When Kate asked if I wanted to start a business together it was a no brainer, and here we are!
